Volubilis
This is the main street, or Decumanus Maximus, stretching down to one of the town gates. Volubilis was the centre of a rich agricultural area in the ancient Roman province of Mauritania Tingitania. It lay at the frontier of the Roman Empire and supplied the capital with wheat, olives and wine.
